Our hostess this week is <a href="https://jeuxdevlin.com/" target="_blank">Cecile Ribon</a> and as is typical for Cecile, she has given us a fun and unique sketch to play with. I went pretty literal to come up with this card.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxgzQdvIMPNk_mqBwbcpbOJROgRAruEzH8J1c8cPbyaMByG40tNFUw-4LCE7L6-qHs3B9PNhwmT370OD2tsDNOFnsige-wYl0LIqwQz_Q9srEEm_NVrUd0rasFH7FWEtOxy_xBG7SHYtwqYe_12hWvwY-j3oiV02NJ5NjreVT-wWgpp3Ea87Kf5vO2nyGX/s2917/Pastel%20Flowers%202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2595" data-original-width="2917" height="570" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxgzQdvIMPNk_mqBwbcpbOJROgRAruEzH8J1c8cPbyaMByG40tNFUw-4LCE7L6-qHs3B9PNhwmT370OD2tsDNOFnsige-wYl0LIqwQz_Q9srEEm_NVrUd0rasFH7FWEtOxy_xBG7SHYtwqYe_12hWvwY-j3oiV02NJ5NjreVT-wWgpp3Ea87Kf5vO2nyGX/w640-h570/Pastel%20Flowers%202.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>These Be Bold Bloom flowers and foliage were already in the pack from an earlier crafty session, so this card was pretty quick to put together. At this point in time, that suits me perfectly because I am having a bit of a creative and inspiration slump at the moment. Just riding the wave until it passes and hopefully my love of card-making will return.</div><div><br /></div><div>On top of that, my daughter's 7-month old Spoodle puppy had to have major heart surgery this week to correct a Grade 5/6 heart murmur which would have shortened her life to months rather than years if we didn't get it done. She had the surgery on Monday this week and is doing really well. We are so very grateful to our vets who flew in a specialist from the North Island to undertake this very complex surgery. I've posted a couple of photos below for anyone interested.</div><div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgy7TwYvoEa1LXH5abuUJA7NoiREuotGOJEQ3xE6AJTOfreSizNNucJLyglWbEhC0uGIjplYL2PCn-geIr8IASfrtGMj92Y4aBHv_7DNGOG7x71uEx2ci98TfRrPFaRyumkZK1lV6N6pujgbjEUp37G__PNAL02v9-DF-OXTlvyoE5Qjm1VVDw5B6VhO5P/s2957/Pastel%20Flowers%201.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2752" data-original-width="2957" height="595" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgy7TwYvoEa1LXH5abuUJA7NoiREuotGOJEQ3xE6AJTOfreSizNNucJLyglWbEhC0uGIjplYL2PCn-geIr8IASfrtGMj92Y4aBHv_7DNGOG7x71uEx2ci98TfRrPFaRyumkZK1lV6N6pujgbjEUp37G__PNAL02v9-DF-OXTlvyoE5Qjm1VVDw5B6VhO5P/w640-h595/Pastel%20Flowers%201.jpg" width="640" /></a></div></div><div><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Thanks so much for visiting. I'm back with another card for the <a href="https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Freshly Made Sketches</a> challenge where this week our hostess is <a href="https://jen-icreate.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Jen Mitchell.</a> I thought it was about time I did some Copic colouring so chose a <a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blogs/news/cc229" target="_blank">MFT Colour Challenge</a> and one of their red rubber floral images (since retired, I think) to come up with this card.</p><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh99_Y9F_xMsu_7Aw1Xxw3MBHFS5daN479G3bbnCuU1fIrs-HkuTkjhrTVLqYswvAccRnBalE6s0pSOG0Ietzrtkt7EcOnNY-Ap1wh6Uioe7VCPbn3-KtRgKgT2QkxuNI9FwcGQHa-mLmTvn-rLP9Iq41mgRx5Xubgpw99O2oz4I9w3Gcj1bW8uUQxM-3a0/s1489/Lavish%20Lilies.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1489" data-original-width="1292" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh99_Y9F_xMsu_7Aw1Xxw3MBHFS5daN479G3bbnCuU1fIrs-HkuTkjhrTVLqYswvAccRnBalE6s0pSOG0Ietzrtkt7EcOnNY-Ap1wh6Uioe7VCPbn3-KtRgKgT2QkxuNI9FwcGQHa-mLmTvn-rLP9Iq41mgRx5Xubgpw99O2oz4I9w3Gcj1bW8uUQxM-3a0/w556-h640/Lavish%20Lilies.jpg" width="556" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Trying to match Ripe Raspberry with Copic markers was a bit of a challenge and I think I went a bit bright, but it was the closest match I could get. In my original version, I had put the sentiment under the pinecones so had to carefully lift it and move it. Today is the first time since I finished work for the holiday break that I've actually wanted to make a card. It really irritates me that when I get the opportunity to make cards every day, I don't want to! Of course, it does take time to decompress after the working year and this is day 8 so I guess about a week to unwind and relax is normal. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Anyway, onto today's card. I was scrolling through Pinterest and was drawn to a <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/pin/165436986304464797/" target="_blank">print</a> I found there and that gave me the impetus to actually go into my craft room and start creating. This is the result:</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVivHnuOp3EvNwtpfKsU-pNMRFevxRQBfUxnbgwuygzne9fD15JJAts4NYfd99hm9kPatAFUMbaR_zo0pbFAMul7XEj6Au_CNBND68yxG4fVBSxyFs4z-rgveQflUJBLFon-McjpuDomJrX38nMzxKem1-Es8h4U0Qr4CbMpD1z6tNNwyyfv-qbFa3gT2t/s1306/Circles%20and%20Leaves.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1222" data-original-width="1306" height="598" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVivHnuOp3EvNwtpfKsU-pNMRFevxRQBfUxnbgwuygzne9fD15JJAts4NYfd99hm9kPatAFUMbaR_zo0pbFAMul7XEj6Au_CNBND68yxG4fVBSxyFs4z-rgveQflUJBLFon-McjpuDomJrX38nMzxKem1-Es8h4U0Qr4CbMpD1z6tNNwyyfv-qbFa3gT2t/w640-h598/Circles%20and%20Leaves.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;">I started with a gray panel and using a circle stencil and some circle masks I die-cut from stencil material, I stenciled the background. On some of the circles, before removing the stencil, I would flick on some gold, black and/or white ink. Our sketch hostess at <a href="https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Freshly Made Sketches</a> this week is <a href="https://amyoneillblog.com/">Amy O'Neill</a> and she has a fabulous sketch for us. I have to admit to being a bit over making Christmas cards and I haven't even given a thought to posting any yet!</p><p>But still, I made another Christmas card - primarily because a big Spellbinders order from Black Friday arrived and I wanted to play.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyPdiL8W6y-6QBgZTllKYaOuI3htgowirqVf_6p0WUqfopMMYkjZ_uuGmThvrYLBUOwfzUrZXXzuRo4ax4-jM2mfV5g1kCojW9uQfxw7e6gkmUMaOOKjiNk_pXCWSq_sJYCUXd6-SMBvyNjSvY-9EK0hwTcY0Y2kmQhb6ONEXxImFTbBaQLF8CxLcpB-LD/s1417/Christmas%20Goodies%201.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1417" data-original-width="1160" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyPdiL8W6y-6QBgZTllKYaOuI3htgowirqVf_6p0WUqfopMMYkjZ_uuGmThvrYLBUOwfzUrZXXzuRo4ax4-jM2mfV5g1kCojW9uQfxw7e6gkmUMaOOKjiNk_pXCWSq_sJYCUXd6-SMBvyNjSvY-9EK0hwTcY0Y2kmQhb6ONEXxImFTbBaQLF8CxLcpB-LD/w524-h640/Christmas%20Goodies%201.jpg" width="524" /></a></div><div><br /></div>I die-cut all the elements from white cardstock and blended ink onto the pieces in various colours. It's my turn to design the sketch this week at <a href="https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Freshly Made Sketches</a> and I came up with this one in about 30 seconds - then wondered what on earth I was going to make with it! I'm here with a card for the latest challenge at <a href="https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Freshly Made Sketches</a>, where <a href="https://joyfulcreationswithkim.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Kim Singhdahlsen</a> is our sketch hostess. I had to play with some NBUS dies so designed my card around this gorgeous Front Porch die and the add-on Christmas set. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-14WEzo3xnzRwfw6G-i1EASDexfhkpUlMZEGUPPIF4kn-J30x-pptiZRGBans8BbmL1SrD6PyFUgPUvZK9q78FxCOu_8CqT9JJwuHF_SLcbjvavhQyLOAR_FXmTMuURgLCDgiRhILgRBpJNYZeRyphbc6rKwyRcmgn__j91QKBq2ZMxA3btKTmeb1pULD/s1400/Snowy%20Porch.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1400" data-original-width="1196" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-14WEzo3xnzRwfw6G-i1EASDexfhkpUlMZEGUPPIF4kn-J30x-pptiZRGBans8BbmL1SrD6PyFUgPUvZK9q78FxCOu_8CqT9JJwuHF_SLcbjvavhQyLOAR_FXmTMuURgLCDgiRhILgRBpJNYZeRyphbc6rKwyRcmgn__j91QKBq2ZMxA3btKTmeb1pULD/w546-h640/Snowy%20Porch.jpg" width="546" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;">This is a big die so to fit the sketch, I made a 5x7 card. All the elements were die-cut from white cardstock apart from the door and sidelights which were cut from red. I coloured the various elements with distress ink and assembled it all. For the background I adhered Dark Indigo to the card base then added a panel behind the front porch which I edged with matte silver cardstock and popped up with foam tape. The horizontal element in the sketch is the snowdrift and I added a reverse foiled sentiment along the bottom.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoQHNBojA793A-c5Yit2JA2lLCWd907NoO5wintlcouMFYzMdRNYC91JTtrZbTlyR5jkYDVKkcZpajhU3T_ukufjQm08ESV7kGAx5B_YPr-KmOzHgeozD6r9X78KZS96XZ6L8CEX8WwEV1pnGiC3EHOmV-8dYwbGp6D_TkfhZPmep9kI1g2NPAisKoq_HU/s1613/Snowy%20Porch%201.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1613" data-original-width="1210" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoQHNBojA793A-c5Yit2JA2lLCWd907NoO5wintlcouMFYzMdRNYC91JTtrZbTlyR5jkYDVKkcZpajhU3T_ukufjQm08ESV7kGAx5B_YPr-KmOzHgeozD6r9X78KZS96XZ6L8CEX8WwEV1pnGiC3EHOmV-8dYwbGp6D_TkfhZPmep9kI1g2NPAisKoq_HU/w480-h640/Snowy%20Porch%201.JPG" width="480" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>This is such a cool die and I am hoping Honey Bee come out with more add-on sets.
