Vellum Leaves

Hi and welcome to The Paper Players challenge!  This week, Nance has challenged us to make a CAS card using watercolor.

I went about as CAS as possible with my watercoloring - merely dropping some watercolor paints onto a white card base and letting them do their thing!

I went with blue and aqua paints and concentrated on one spot on the card base.  Once that dried, I adhered some vellum leaves, silver thread and a die-cut sentiment.  A few sequins and this CAS card was finished.

Thanks for visiting.  Be sure to check out the watercolored beauties created by the rest of the DT.

Thanks for visiting.

Products used:

Stamps:  Roundabout Additions (Reverse Confetti)
Cardstock:  White, Vellum
Ink:  Island Blue (SSS)
Accessories:  Lil' Inkers Stitched Circles, silver thread, Clustered Leaves die (SSS), Kuretake Gambai paints, sequins

Cheers
Karren

  1. Karren, this is gorgeous! The bold colors against all the white and the vellum is stunning and the mix of blues and greens is beautiful. I love it all! Thanks for rockin' my challenge!

  3. Words cannot describe how much I love this card. I'll have to hunt around for that list of adjectives we have to find something suitable, but in the meantime I'll just say ~sigh~ The splash of watercolor behind the vellum leaves is so dreamy and it sounds like it was super easy to do. Maybe you have unlocked the secret watercoloring code for me!

  4. This card looks gorgeous! I know you will say it was easy to make, but after all of the paper I wasted this week, I know it takes true artistic talent. Love it!!

  5. OH. MY. GOSH. This is perfectly wonderful, just what I wanted to do but could not make it work! I will have to try to simplify my technique and give it another go! Of course, that fun sentiment is perfect for your watercolored background, as are the vellum touches!

  7. Gorgeous! Love the vibrant blue! Your vellum leaves, silver thread and sequins are just perfect. You should link this up to the current Just Add Ink challenge (just add sequins). Love this one Karren.

PS: I ordered the MISTI from Sweet Petunia, along with some grid paper and two magnets - I hadn't received your message before my excitement got the better of me and I'd sourced it. Wish I'd got more magnets after reading your message. Sigh.

  17. Gorgeous, gorgeous - so simple, but clearly well though out Karren. I love the blues/greens against the white, but the vellum leaves and twisted thread are what really makes this card and your watercolouring stand out - love it!
