I seem to be fixated on negative space lately and this week is no exception.
I masked off some squares on a white card base and sponged Distress Oxide Inks in an ombre fashion. I then die-cut squares from a white panel and after stamping a sentiment, I adhered it to the card base with foam tape.
The butterflies were stamped with Altenew inks and cut with my Scan n Cut. I then added them to the card with a mix of foam tape and liquid glue.
I made this card with my son in mind. There is a story that when you see a butterfly, if you say "I love you", it will take your message to your loved one in heaven. I don't know if there could be any truth to this because I'm not sure I even believe in heaven, but it's a nice story and does provide some comfort. I'm hoping to see some butterflies as we come into warmer weather here in NZ.

Karren, your card is gorgeous and your post is beautiful. I'm so very sorry about Matthew. I can't even imagine all you've been through and continue to go through. I don't know if I believe in heaven either but I always hope that loved ones that have passed somehow still know how much those left behind love them. Big hugs to you.
