Prickly

Hi and welcome to Freshly Made Sketches!  Today we have a fantastic sketch from the one-and-only Linda Callahan.

For my card, I used pretty much all NBUS from the latest MFT release:

I adhered a strip of Off the Grid patterned paper to the left hand side of a card base.  I then lightly sponged Fog ink over the new Geometric Grid stencil on a white panel before stamping the sentiment.  I have to say, that sentiment is the main reason I bought this set!  Lately I need to give a card with this sentiment to my DH every. single. day!

I colored the plants and pots with Copics then arranged them on the card.  The smaller cactus is popped up on foam tape.

I'm linking this to Darnell's NBUS challenge, just squeaking in before the challenge closes.  Thanks for visiting.  The rest of the design team have made some amazing cards with this sketch, so I hope you check them out.

Products used:

Stamps:  Sweet Succulents (MFT)
Ink:  Black Licorice Hybrid (MFT), Fog (SSS)
Cardstock:  White, X-Press It, Off the Grid (MFT)
Dies:  Sweet Succulents
Accessories:  Copics, Geometric Grid Stencil

Cheers
Karren

This is so beautiful with the soft, graphic background and side strip and the fabulous coloring job on the succulents! The perfect sentiment rounds it all up! Couldn't we all use this sentiment...?

Great card, the stencilling works so well as a backdrop for the images. I think I need that sentiment stamp for cards to send to my DH! Karen x

Your subtle stamped background is a lovely contrast to your bright plants. Beautiful coloring too.

You are such a coloring pro! That sentiment makes me laugh -- I think my husband would appreciate a card from me with this sentiment too. Cute card, Karren!

I think I should get that set for the same reason, Karren! I mean, I don't mean to give to your husband, of course, but to give to mine! You've really made an adorable card that is sure to elicit forgiveness! The catci are darling and I also love the way you lightly stenciled your background and then grounded everything with your side border!! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #6! I apologize for taking so long to come by and thank you. Enjoy your day!! Hugs, Darnell
