Poppies

Hi and welcome!  It's my turn to host over at Freshly Made Sketches and as I like to do, I came up with a simple yet versatile sketch.  Here's the card I made with it:

Gotta say up front, this is not a favourite card.  I now regret adding the black ring frames behind the poppy images, but it was too late to remove them after I decided I didn't like them.  They were stuck down good!

The rectangular panel was created with a stencil and Versamark ink.  Once I had the rectangle inked up I added some embossing powder mixed with texture powder to create a dimensional rough surface.

The flowers were stamped using a new-to-me stamp set from The Ton.  As I said I wish I hadn't used the black frames, but it is what it is.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the blog to see what the rest of the DT have done with my sketch.

Dragonfly

Thanks for dropping in!  I'm here with my card for the latest Fusion challenge, where I created a fusion of both photo and sketch.

I tried to re-create the gorgeous colors from the photo using Distress Oxide inks and stencils.  After I'd finished, I die-cut a half circle and adhered it to a white side-folding card base.  I added the white-embosses sentiment.

I used an off-cut from the stenciled panel for the background of the dragonfly and then I used black glossy cardstock for the top layer.  I finished with some sequins in similar colors.

Thanks for visiting!  The DT have some gorgeous cards, so I hope you'll check them out.

Triangle Wishes

Hi and welcome!  Cecile Ribon is our sketch hostess over at Freshly Made Sketches and as always, she has a fun and unique sketch for us to play with.  Here's the card I created with her sketch:

Onto a panel of white cardstock I stenciled through a triangle stencil with three colors of Distress Oxide Ink.  Before I removed the triangle stencil, I added another stencil and went over again with the same colors, but with a heavier hand.  I did this three times to mimic the sketch.

I die-cut the panel and adhered it to a white top-folding card base.  The sentiment was hot-foiled using black foil and then die-cut with the co-ordinating die.  And that's it!  No other embellishments because I thought this would make a good masculine card.

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you'll check out the wonderful cards made by the DT.

Stay Awesome

Hi!  It's time for another challenge from the team at Freshly Made Sketches and this week our hostess is Jen Brum.  She has given us an angled sketch to play with and here's what I came up with:

Angled panels always give me fits so I went looking for something in my stash that wasn't so obviously an angle and came up with this die which I adhered over a panel of Altenew washi tape.

I finished with a simple sentiment and some Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Thanks for visiting.  Please check out the wonderful cards made by the rest of the DT.

Fruity

Hi!  I'm here with a card for the latest Fusion challenge where I combined both the sketch and photo to come up with this card.

I lightly sponged some distress ink onto a white panel and arranged my stamped and die-cut fruit onto the panel.  The sentiment was white embossed onto black and adhered to a white crd base.  I then arranged some purple cardsock and B&W striped paper to match the sketch.  Finally I adhered the top panel using foam tape.

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you'll check out the fabulous cards made by the rest of the DT.

Uniquely Sarah

Welcome to my blog where I've got a card for the latest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches, where Kim Singdahlsen is our host.

I used an older My Monthly Hero Kit and put together this girl from the various elements in the kit.  She is carrying her Birkin 😄I mounted the girl onto a stitched square black panel on which I had white-embossed a sentiment.

The card base was embossed with the Subtle embossing folder and I then adhered striped paper and thin strips of gold foil cardstock.

The girl was adhered with foam tape and I finished with some sparkling clear sequins.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the fabulous cards made by the design team.
