Krafty Mums

Hi and welcome!  Today's card was made for Darnell's latest NBUS challenge.  This challenge has the optional twist of coloring on kraft.  I'm not great with colored pencils - I just don't have the patience to go lightly and blend, blend, blend - but I do enjoy using them for relatively quick colored pieces.  Coincidentally, I was on a local website that specialises in gaming and DVDs here in NZ the other day and lo and behold, they stock Polychromos pencils.  I've been hankering after these for some time, so decided that fate had sent me to that website on that day specifically to buy them.  Who am I to deny fate? 😃

This WP9 image is NBUS as is the Power Poppy sentiment.  I stamped the floral image onto some tan cardstock and colored it with my Polychromos.  (Five points for spotting where I made a boo-boo and colored where I shouldn't!  It's pretty obvious!)  Once I was finished coloring, I stamped the sentiment then outlined both with the white pencil.  Some clear sparkle pen was applied to the two big blooms.

I adhered the tan panel to the NBUS Park Avenue frame, cutting out a couple of the leaves on the left to overhang the frame.  I then adhered both panels to a white card base.  I finished the card with a few sparkling clear sequins.

Thanks for visiting!

All kinds of Serena Dipity happening here with the Polychromos practically falling in your lap and then my challenge coming along to do the cp/k technique! Awesome! And that's what your card is, Karren! You have done a masterful job with your coloring and I love the scalloped frame and how you've arranged the leaves! (You've also enabled me to add three more things to my Wish List!) Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #8! Hugs, Darnell

You had me looking and looking and looking at your card trying to spot the boo-boo, Karren, bu I just can't see it!!!!! What I did see was some wonderful colouring on the kraft - I really like how you've done the soft white on the edges!!!! The white scalloped frame against the kraft is simply beautiful!!!! A fabulous card!!!
Have a great day!!!

And you said you weren't great with colored pencils? For someone whose claims she can't color, you did a beautiful job!
Now I feel like a dope because I can't find your booboo?
Thank you for sharing!
