You Totally Rock!

It's time for another fun sketch at SugarPea Designs and this week Wendy has given us an angled panel to work with.  That just says trendy to me, so I decided to go with a teenager-y type card.

I had to buy Classroom Cupids when I saw the Valentine cards Wendy made for her children to hand out.  The font on this sentiment is so cool and I think this makes a fun card to give to a teenager.  I stamped the guitar in black and clear-embossed it before fussy-cutting it out and adhering it to a Zig Zag Stitched Circle.  The sentiment was white-embossed on a Stitched Flag.  I used the two stars in the Gift Tag die and some silver glitter paper and finally some patterned paper.

Here are the guidelines to join in our challenge:

  • Create a new card or project using the sketch provided.
  • SugarPea Designs stamps are NOT required to play along or to win but would be appreciated :)
  • You may rotate/flip the sketch & replace shapes – so long as the original sketch layout is recognizable.
  • Upload to your blog or other Online Gallery using Keyword: SPDSS42 so that we may check out your beautiful work.
  • One randomly selected winner will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the SugarPea Designs store. However, if the winning entry features a SugarPea Designs stamp we will increase the prize to $75!
  • We will announce our Main Winner at the end of each month.
  • The more times you play along during the month, the better chance you have of winning!

Prickly

Hi and welcome to Freshly Made Sketches!  Today we have a fantastic sketch from the one-and-only Linda Callahan.

For my card, I used pretty much all NBUS from the latest MFT release:

I adhered a strip of Off the Grid patterned paper to the left hand side of a card base.  I then lightly sponged Fog ink over the new Geometric Grid stencil on a white panel before stamping the sentiment.  I have to say, that sentiment is the main reason I bought this set!  Lately I need to give a card with this sentiment to my DH every. single. day!

I colored the plants and pots with Copics then arranged them on the card.  The smaller cactus is popped up on foam tape.

I'm linking this to Darnell's NBUS challenge, just squeaking in before the challenge closes.  Thanks for visiting.  The rest of the design team have made some amazing cards with this sketch, so I hope you check them out.

Ink:  Black Licorice Hybrid (MFT), Fog (SSS)

Watercolored Roses

Hi and welcome!  Today I'm thrilled to be a guest over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.  I love that challenge and play along whenever time permits.  Check out this week's challenge:

Are these not fabulous colors?  For my card, I decided to get out my Zig markers and chose colors as close to the challenge colors as possible.

I white embossed the outline images from Scribble Roses and colored with my Zig markers.  After I'd die-cut all the pieces, I arranged them how I wanted and used some Press n Seal to keep the arrangement in place (love that stuff!).  I die-cut a strip of Fog cardstock with a scalloped edge die and adhered that to a white card base that I'd lightly spritzed with some Gold Color Shine.  I then stuck down my flowers before removing the Press n Seal from them.  The sentiment was die-cut from black card and liberally coated with Wink of Stella.

Thanks for visiting.  Be sure to check out the wonderful creations by the Cupcake Inspirations DT and have some fun with these colors.

Birthday Elephant

Hi and welcome!  Today's card encompasses a few challenges that are out there at the moment:  Muse Card Club, City Crafter who are looking for elephants on your card, ColourQ, and MFT Sketch Challenge.

From the adorable Muse card, I took the elephant, the balloons (although I only used one) and the solid color background.

I loosely painted distress inks plus Island Blue from SSS onto a panel of white cardstock.  Once that was dry, I flicked some of the Blueprint Sketch ink on top using a paintbrush before cutting the panel with a stitched die.

The elephant and balloon were colored with Copics and die cut.  I then stamped the sentiment onto a flag and adhered both the elephant and balloon to it.  The tag was cut from white cardstock and I also cut the top reinforcer from a scrap of the watercolored panel.  The sentiment, elephant and balloon are all popped up on foam tape.  I finished the card with some rainstones.

Thanks for visiting!

Lucky

Hi and welcome to Fusion Card Challenge!  This time, we have a bit of a St Patrick's Day theme going on with a fun ombre picture challenge and a repeat pattern sketch for you to try.

If you are a regular visitor to my blog, you'll note that I used this same stamp set for my FMS card yesterday!  I was coloring up various images for Kathy Rac's 30 Day Challenge and these little images were easy to color in the short periods of time I had available.

For my card, I went with a very simple and easy layout.  I adhered the four-leaf clover to a white card base beside the stamped sentiment.

To add a little bit of interest, I colored the clover with Wink of Stella, but other than that, it was a 10-minute card!

Thanks for visiting.  Be sure to check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the design team.

Ink:  Black Licorice Hybrid (MFT)

New Baby

Welcome to another fabulous sketch at SugarPea Designs Sketch Challenge!  I absolutely love our sketch this week - circles and flags - what more could you want? :)

I just got some new goodies from SugarPea Designs and wanted to take them for a test drive, so I decided to make a baby card, using lemon, white and light grey colors.

I started with a white card base and then added a Lemon Chiffon flag cut using the newly-released Stitched Flags die.  I stamped the word "new" from Welcome Baby and added a die-cut "baby" using the die Baby Diaper Pin and some Smoke cardstock.

The top panel was sponged with Lemon Chiffon ink through the Tiny Dots stencil, as I wanted a polka dot look and didn't have any appropriate patterned paper.  That panel was popped up on foam tape and the Heart Border die was added to the bottom.  For the circular element, I took a Fog circle and adhered the pin from Baby Diaper Pin using Smoke and Lemon Chiffon cardstock.  Finally, I added Rock Candy Distress Glitter to the end of the pin.

Shine Bright

It's time for another fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and this week our hostess is the wonderful Rita Wright!  I just love her sketch - check it out:

I used some NBUS on my card - the adorable Lucky stamp set by MFT.  I stamped and colored the large star and a bunch of the smaller star using Copics.  I then took a panel of white cardstock and sponged distress inks in an ombre fashion.  On top of that, I used the new star stencil to add more interest to the sponged panel, using Fossilized Amber ink.

That panel was die-cut with a pierced rectangle die and adhered to a white card base  I then adhered a white-embossed black sentiment panel to the card base using foam tape.  Lastly I added the large star which I'd painted with Wink of Stella.

Thanks for visiting.  The rest of the design team have some fabulous cards showcasing this sketch, so be sure to check them out.
