Birthday Flowers

Hi and welcome!  Today's card was inspired by Michelle's gorgeous Muse card, as well as Kay's beautiful card at Time Out.  I used the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch and the left vertical column from Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.  I probably shouldn't link to both Muse and Time Out, but I was genuinely inspired by both cards and in fact, I have a DT card coming up later in the week which was also inspired by both cards!

From Michele's card, I took the bottom right layout and the dark sentiment banner as well as the beautiful lilac flowers.  I actually have the same set she used, but I wanted to do something a bit different.  From Kay's card, I took the pale grey frame and the bunch of flowers.

I stamped a cut a hole lot of masks for my bunch of flowers, then before I stamped them I had to work out what I wanted in the forefront of the bunch and what I wanted in the back, so that I could mask properly.  I could have die-cut the individual blooms but I chose to mask for the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.  I also did something a bit different and cut a hole in the card base and layered some vellum under the rectangle frame.  The card base was spritzed and splattered with some gold Color Shine and the sentiment was white embossed on a black banner.

Thanks for visiting.
