Joy in the Journey

Welcome to the new challenge from the team at Tic Tac Toe.  This week I chose Stitching - Die-cut - Summer to come up with this card.

The bicycle elements were stamped, Copic-coloured and die-cut before being assembled.  The background was die-cut from both cardstock and patterned paper.  I found a sentiment from another stamp set that worked well so stamped that in the top panel.

The Summer Splash die-cut is popped up on foam tape as is the bicycle.  I finished with some white enamel dots.

Thanks for visiting.  The DT have some gorgeous creations so please check them out.

Letterpress Hello

Hi and welcome to another challenge from the team at Freshly Made Sketches where our hostess this week is Judy Rozema.  Judy has a wonderful CAS sketch for us that asks for a lot of white space.  Here's what I did with the sketch:

I jumped on the Betterpress bandwagon as soon as they were available in New Zealand but hadn't really done too much with it.  I decided that big open area on the top of the sketch was perfect for this big hello so I put that through the Betterpress system using the pebble paper.  I then die-cut the panel with a curved die, which in hindsight wasn't a great idea because it flattened the letterpress effect somewhat.  I added a strip of Blueberry cardstock under the curve to match the colour of the butterflies.

The butterflies were already pressed onto porcelain paper from an earlier play, so I grabbed a couple of Prismacolor pencils and quickly coloured them up before die-cutting them.  And that's it!

Thanks so much for visiting.  The DT have some great inspiration so please check them out.

Hippo Birthday

Hi!  For the first time in what seems like forever, I had time to make a card just for the fun of it and to enter in a few challenges!  I started with the sketch from MFT, then chose the colours based on the Color Throwdown challenge.  From there, I went with the CAS challenge at Krafty Chicks.

Because it was a MFT sketch, I went through my MFT stamps and found this NBUS set so I decided on the hippos because I could use gray for the CTD challenge.  After colouring the image I cut it out and then made a Polaroid frame using a square and rectangle die.

I stamped the sentiment and adhered it all together, using foam tape to adhere it to a Fog cardbase.

As per the sketch I found some little clay hearts and coloured one of the white ones with a Copic marker and then adhered them all with liquid glue.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Products used:

Christmas Wishes

Hi all!  I'm here with my card for the lastest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches where our hostess this week is Amy O'Neill

I haven't done any Copic colouring in quite some time, so decided that was going to be the focus of this card.  I chose the patterned paper then some blues and reds to match and sat down to colour.  Once finished, I die-cut her and set her aside.  The patterned paper was cut with a scalloped border die and the sentiment was white-embossed onto black.

I then added all the elements to the card, including some white gel pen dots on the scarf and a red enamel heart.

Thanks for visiting!  Please check out the wonderful cards made by the rest of the DT.

Insect Study

It's time for a new Tic-Tac-Toe challenge and this week I went with the bottom row Gingham-Floral-Insect to come up with this card:

Almost everything on this card comes from NBUS product from The Greetery from their Curio collection.  I die-cut everything from white cardstock and used ink to blend colour onto the elements.  The postage stamp was die-cut from vellum and black cardstock and stamped with Stazon ink.  The paperclips were die-cut from silver foil cardstock.

Thanks for visiting!

Daisy For You

Hi!  Narelle Farrugia is our sketch hostess over at Freshly Made Sketches this week and once again I was pressed for time, so dug through a few stamp sets to find some already-stamped images for this card.

The flower and foliage were arranged to mimic the sketch and adhered together.  I then cut a piece out of the card front and found some neutral patterned paper to fill the gap.  Finally, I finished with the negative hot-foiled sentiment and some gray pearls.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the fabulous cards made by the design team.

Bridge Card Celebration

Hi and welcome to our newest sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches where this week I am the hostess.  I designed my sketch as a way to encourage me to make a fun-fold card - specifically a bridge card.  If you are unfamiliar with bridge cards check out Jennifer McGuire's Bridge Card Video.  I'll wait 😄

I went a bit rogue with the centre panel but when I found this NBUS hot foil and die set, I really wanted to use it, so I did.  The background is hot-foiled and stenciled with green shades and then cut into panels to fit the card base.

I then foiled, coloured and die-cut the floral images as well as the diamond frame which is popped up on the diamond background.  The sentiment is a reverse hot-foiled sentiment from Pink Fresh.

This was really quite an easy fun-fold so maybe I should venture into more card designs that aren't your standard A2.  Thanks for visiting.  Please head over and check out the gorgeous cards made by the design team.

Products used:

Cardstock:  White
Ink:  Iced Spruce Distress Ink, Wintergreen, Sage, Martini (Catherine Pooler)
Dies:  Diamond Floral Frame,  Geometric Optical Background (Spellbinders), Wonderful Sentiments (Pink Fresh)
Accessories:  Copper Hot Foil, Black Hot Foil, Copics, Geometric Optical Background Stencils (Spellbinders)
