Pink Baby

Hi!  This is my last day of a week off work ๐Ÿ˜ขand in between taking my newly-licenced son for driving lessons (like 3x a day!), I've been in my craft room.  It's been so good to actually play along with a few challenges that I just don't get time to play with in my usually limited crafting time.  One of those challenges is Addicted to CAS - every fortnight I see the new cue word and want to play along and before I know it, the challenge is closed and I've not made a card.

Another challenge I haven't played with in ages is City Crafter.  I decided to combine these two challenges into the card below.

The cue word at Addicted to CAS is Baby and City Crafter are looking for pink, flamingoes, wooden blocks, hello or phones.  I went with pink, wooden blocks and hello.  This set is NBUS called Hello Little One by MFT Stamps.  I don't know anyone having babies but it's always good to have a couple of baby cards on hand.  I stamped and colored the images with Copics and cut them with my Scan n Cut.  For a bit of fun, I added some white dots onto the baby pram using a white gel pen.

On a white top-folding card base I lightly sponged some Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick distress inks.  I stamped the sentiment in Black Licorice Hybrid ink and then added the images.  The blocks are popped up on foam tape.

To finish the card, I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard and colored the blocks with clear sparkle pen.

Thanks so much for visiting!  I have another card I made this morning, so I might end up with two posts today, depending on how organised I am ๐Ÿ˜„

You Say Witch...

Hi and welcome!  Today's card was made the other evening, when I felt like doing some coloring.  After I'd finished coloring, I decided to make it up into a card and this is the finished result.

I'm linking this up to ColourQ and City Crafter challenges.

This is another NBUS image that has been in my NBUS box since near the beginning of the year!  I stamped her onto Neenah Solar White and colored her with Copics.  I then masked her using a Molotow masking pen and sponged Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Carved Pumpkin inks around her, finishing off with some Black Soot at the bottom.  I then removed the masking fluid and stamped the sentiment.

Finally, I cut the panel with a pierced rectangle die and adhered it to a white card base.  I then took my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen and colored her skin, a la Edward Cullen :)

Thanks for visiting.

Selfie

Hi and welcome!  I'm on a mission to use up my NBUS stamps and I have a few of them!  This card uses two Clearly Besotted sets I've had since their release and only using them now.  I created this card using the sketch from MFT, the selfie theme at City Crafter and the Cute cue word at CASology.

I stamped, colored and die-cut various images from Caped Cuties and Hooray for Heroes sets and then set about making a polaroid frame using a square and rectangle die.  I positioned the images and adhered them, with the polaroid frame to a Soft Stone card base.

The sentiment is the Big Hello die from MFT, using Soft Navy cardstock and popped up on dimensionals.

Thanks for visiting.

Stamps:  Caped Cuties, Hooray for Heroes (Clearly Besotted)
Ink:  Black Licorice Hybrid
Cardstock:  Soft Stone (PTI), Soft Navy (SSS), White

Tentacle Birthday

The stencil I used on my card today is called Tentacles - hence my blog post title.  However, when I saw it, I didn't see tentacles but instead a gorgeous pattern and I just had to have it.  Today is its first outing.

This stencil is by Brett Weldele and sold through Stampers Anonymous.  I bought three of these a couple of weeks ago from a local online store and I just love them.  I used the first one the other day on this card.

Anyway, onto the card, which I made to cover a few challenges:  the sketch at MFT, the colors from Color Throwdown, the Anything Goes theme at SSS and the birthday themes at City Crafter and Seize the Birthday (no toppings).

I chose distress inks as close to the bright blue, green and yellow in the CTD palette
and went to town with my stencil brushes and the stencil onto a piece of white cardstock.  Once I was happy with the inking, I adhered some Poppy cardstock strips down each side and mounted it onto a white card base.  The "amazing" word is stacked three high and adhered to the stenciled piece.  I white embossed the rest of the sentiment and popped the pieces up on foam tape.  Then I went scrounging for some red enamel dots and found my last three!

Father's Day

This Sunday is Father's Day here in New Zealand and I wanted to make a special card for my father.  I decided to go with the Mojo Monday Tall & Skinny sketch and combined that with the stitching challenge at Simon Says Stamp, the "no designer paper" theme at Sweet Stampin' and the "F" challenge at Cardz for Guyz.

I used a new stencil and my new stencil brushes to make the blue and green panels.  Once I'd finished brushing ink onto them, I stamped some of the splatters from Distressed Patterns using silver ink before cutting them to size..  My card base is 7" x 4" and I adhered the blue panels top and bottom, leaving a blank spot in the middle.  The green panel was matted onto a black backing and the sentiment was white-embossed onto a strip die-cut with a die from Blueprints 6.  For tha flag, I used a strip of vellum and clear-embossed the silver splatters to tie it into the rest of the card.  I then stitched the vellum and the blue panels onto the card base.

The words were die-cut from Little Letters dies and positioned in the bottom right corner of the green panel - and yes the 'love' is slightly crooked :)

That pretty much sums up my card.  Thanks for visiting and I hope my dad will like this.

Cool as You

Hi and welcome!  Today I'm thrilled to be a Guest Designer this week at City Crafter Challenge Blog.  The challenge is Typically Tropical and as I'm right in the middle of winter, it was nice to create something with a warm feel :)

And here's my card:

I used the adorable Penguins in Paradise set and created a little scene after sponging some "sand" and "sea" onto a white panel.  I used Copics for my coloring and also added some white gel pen dots on his towel.  The palm tree in the foreground as well as the penguin are popped up on foam tape.  For a different look, I positioned the panel in the bottom right hand corner of the card base.

Thanks for visiting!  And thanks to the team at City Crafter for inviting me to join them this week.  Head on over and check out the challenge and the fabulous inspiration from the DT.

I'm also entering this into the Tropical theme at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge and the stash challenge at AAA Cards.  My absolute favorite thing to use is my Copic marker collection, followed closely by my distress inks - both of which are featured here.

Products used:

Stamps:  Penguins in Paradise (MFT)
Ink:  Black Licorice Hybrid (MFT), Brushed Corduroy, Salty Ocean (Distress)
Cardstock:  White, X-Press It
Dies:  Penguins in Paradise
Accessories:  Copics, white gel pen

Grateful

And here is my last card for Camp Create - this time Glitzy Glitter!  I used the inspiration at City Crafter and the CAS theme at Addicted to Stamps and More.

I don't do glitter, so this really was a challenge for me!  I used glitter paper in a beautiful white color for my die-cut grateful.  The pale blue gingham patterned paper was mounted onto foam tape after I stamped the sentiment in black ink.  I wanted to keep the card very, very CAS in keeping with that gorgeous inspiration photo at City Crafter.

And that's it!  My last card for Camp Create!  It's been fun challenging myself - not only with different materials and techniques, but also to get five cards made in a week on top of DT commitments :)

Thanks for visiting!

But First...

Hi!  I'm back for the second time today with my card for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, which has a summer theme.  My card also meets the themes at Curtain Call and City Crafter, so I'm linking up there too.  Inkspirational has a masking theme and as I did two different types of masking on this card, I'm adding my card.

This is a one layer card and involved masking off a strip on a white card base before sponging Antique Linen ink for the sand and Tumbled Glass ink for both the sea and the horizon, using a much lighter touch for the sky.  I also used a cloud mask for the sky.  Once I was finished sponging, I used a white gel pen for the waves and a Copic marker to add texture to the sand.

Once I was happy with the image, I removed the mask and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

A very simple card but I hope it evokes a feeling of peace while drinking coffee on a warm morning with a view like this :)

Thanks for visiting.

Birthday Elephant

Hi and welcome!  Today's card encompasses a few challenges that are out there at the moment:  Muse Card Club, City Crafter who are looking for elephants on your card, ColourQ, and MFT Sketch Challenge.

From the adorable Muse card, I took the elephant, the balloons (although I only used one) and the solid color background.

I loosely painted distress inks plus Island Blue from SSS onto a panel of white cardstock.  Once that was dry, I flicked some of the Blueprint Sketch ink on top using a paintbrush before cutting the panel with a stitched die.

The elephant and balloon were colored with Copics and die cut.  I then stamped the sentiment onto a flag and adhered both the elephant and balloon to it.  The tag was cut from white cardstock and I also cut the top reinforcer from a scrap of the watercolored panel.  The sentiment, elephant and balloon are all popped up on foam tape.  I finished the card with some rainstones.

Thanks for visiting!
