Partial Cut Flowers

Hi and welcome!  It's time for another challenge from the team at The Flower Challenge and this month we have a treat for you!  It's our Case the Designer challenge and the designer is the amazing Therese Calvird.  Check out this amazing card:

No automatic alt text available.

There is so much to be inspired by on Therese's card - the floral die, negative die cut, pink, ombre, the gorgeous soft background behind the die-cut, the layout...  I was inspired by the layout and the pinks.  I also used the same sentiment but in a different way.

I white-embossed a text stamp onto a panel of watercolor paper and watercolored with distress inks.  I then adhered that to the card base.  The top panel was die-cut with the Partial Cut Flowers die and added with foam tape.  I popped up the petals so you can see the watercolored panel underneath.   Here are a couple more photos so you can see the real effect of the flowers.

Thanks for visiting.  The rest of the DT have some beautiful cards so I hope you'll check them out and also pay a visit to Therese's gorgeous blog.

Products used:

Stamps:  Amazing (MFT), Trendsetters Background (Unity)
Ink:  Versamark, Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar & Worn Lipstick Distress Inks

This is so soft and pretty Karren! love the 'popped' out flowers, how clever. That ombre sentiment and black and white one sets it all off so beautifully too ;) hugs Viv xx

WOW!! Karren, this is a beautiful CASE of Theresa's card, love the way the soft pink water colored paper peeks just enough from under the die cut flowers, to give your design a soft pinkish glow.
Beautiful CASE.

The partial die-cutting is a great way to let the colours "peek" through - really ties in perfectly with the sentiment diecut too!

I agree with all the comments above. This is an amazing design. The partial cut flowers with the colour peeking through is such a great effect, and I can imagine gives great shadowing in certain lights too. So clever!
