Unfrog-gettable Day

Hi!  It's time for the team at Freshly Made Sketches to present you with another fabulous sketch and this week, our sketch hostess is the super-talented Jennifer Timko.

Great sketch, right?  I decided to do some Copic coloring on the long panel and used a NBUS set by SugarPea Designs.

I'm going through a bit of a dry spell at the moment and not liking my cards much.  I'm hoping it passes soon :)  I matted the colored image with black then used foam tape to adhere it to a Soft Stone card base.  The sentiment is white-embossed onto black and also adhered using foam tape.

I hope you have a chance to check out the cards made by the rest of the design team - they're wonderful, as always!

Products used:

Stamps:  Unfrog-gettable (SPD)
Ink: Black Licorice Hybrid, Versamark
Cardstock:  Soft Stone (PTI), X-Press It, Black
Accessories:  Copics, White EP, Corner Chomper

Celebratory Balloons

Hi and welcome!  Today's card came about using the colors from Color Throwdown and the inspiration photo from Addicted to Stamps and More.  Because there are several bows on it, I'm also linking to 4 Crafty Chicks challenge.

I started my card by sponging a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac and Victorian Velvet distress inks.  Once I'd finished, I spritzed some water over the top and let it soak in before soaking up the water with a paper towel.  I then die-cut the panel using the Park Avenue frame.  The frame portion was adhered with foam tape onto a white card base and the inside was stuck flat to the card base.

I die-cut some vellum balloons and some black stings and bows and added them to the card.  The sentiment has 3 layers of white and one later of black, slightly offset.

I finished the card by coloring the balloons with clear sparkle pen for a lovely shimmer.  Thanks for visiting!

Christmas Mouse

Hi!  The theme at Merry Monday this week is The Night Before Christmas and I just had to play along!  Way back in the early 2000's I bought some stamps from Imagina Clarity (now Clarity Stamps) that were part of a series of Night Before Christmas stamps.  This card was made using the first stamp in the series.

I'm also playing along with the Anything Goes theme at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.

I was going for a vintage, yet CAS look, so colored my image with browns and peachy Zig markers.  I added a pierced frame and called it done!  A pretty simple card, but oh, such a cute image!

Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Cardstock:  Bristol Smooth, In the Buff (MFT)

Sew Much

Hi!  It's time for another challenge from the team at Just Add Ink.  Check this out:

Image may contain: text

Yep, Just Add Stitching - real or faux.

I used some stitched dies on my card, but I also went with a sewing theme using these adorable Lawn Fawn stamps.

I stamped, colored and die-cut the images then went over some areas with my Atyou Spica pens for a lovely shimmer.  On the background I used some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse over top of a Quilted Stitch stencil (see more stitching 😃)

Thanks for popping by!  The JAI design team have some wonderful cards using this theme, so head on over and check them out.

Stenciled Flower

Hi and welcome!  It's time for another challenge at The Flower Challenge and this month we are CASEing the Design Team.  That's right - choose any of the design team cards and CASE it.

For my card, I went with one of my favorite techniques - stenciling.

I took a panel of white cardstock and placed a NBUS Hero Arts stencil on the left hand side.  I then sponged over the top with Faded Jeans and Broken China Distress Oxide inks, keeping the darker color to the top.  Once that was done, I stamped the gorgeous Penny Black Dreamy stamp in Versafine Onyx Black ink and this beautiful sentiment from SugarPea Designs.

The panel was die-cut with a stitched die and adhered to a white card base with foam tape.

Thanks for visiting.  The Design Team have some wonderful designs to CASE so head on over and check them out.

I'm linking this up to the Always Fun Challenge, who are looking for flowers this week.

Pink Roses

Hi!  I'm here with another fun sketch from the team at Freshly Made Sketches and this week my Aussie mate, Narelle, is our hostess.

This card fought me the whole way and I ended up with some creased leaves but by then, I was over it and just left them, so the creases you see in a few leaves in the close-up aren't meant to be there 😉

I black-embossed the flowers onto Bristol Smooth cardstock and colored them with Zig markers.  From there, the plan was to die-cut them with a circle die, doing some out-of-the-box die-cutting.  That worked fine but then I stupidly decided to add some gray around the outside.  What a mess!  So to fix it, I splattered on some Black Soot ink.  Double mess!  To fix the problem I fussy cut the flowers.

I took a white card panel and die-cut it with a dotted half circle die.  I adhered two angle-cut strips - the top one having been white-embossed.  After I added the flowers with foam tape and adhered the panel to a top-folding card base, I added some Nuvo Shimmer Drops and called it done!

Thanks so much for visiting.  As always, the rest of the design team have some gorgeous cards to inspire you.

I'm linking this up to the tic-tac-toe challenge at Paper Players - using the Pink-Leaves-Flower combo.

Here for You

Hi and welcome.  I made this card on the weekend and only now getting a minute to blog it!  Story of my life lately!  Anyways, I made this using the colors from Color Throwdown, but that challenge has ended :(  I also used the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch, the Anything Goes theme featuring Newton's Nook at Simon Says Stamp, and the CAS theme at Addicted to Stamps and More.

I stamped this adorable image onto X-Press It cardstock and colored it with Copics in the CTD colors.  After die-cutting it with the co-ordinating die, I set it aside and got to work on my card base.  To bring in the horizontal element, I die-cut an oval from the card base and adhered some patterned paper to resemble sun's rays behind the cut-out.  I stamped the sentiment then adhered the image using foam tape.  To finish the card, I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Products used:

Stamps:  Rainy Day (Newton's Nook)
Ink:  Black Licorice Hybrid
Cardstock:  White, Whatever the Weather (SPD)
Dies:  Rainy Day (Newton's Nook), Stitched Oval Word Windows (MFT)
