Pink Thank You

Hi!  It's time for a new Fusion challenge and I created a fusion this week to come up with this card:

Whenever I see a typewriter image, I'm always drawn to my SugarPea Designs stamp and die set.  I love the wee typewriter and this time I used pink, cream and black from the photo to create my typewriter.  I adhered it with foam tape to a black die-cut circle and then prepared my card base.  Onto the cream base I added the pink panels onto which I'd heat-embossed the sentiment and then run through with an embossing folder to provide some texture.

I finished with some clear sparkle pen on the heart and inside of the typewriter.

Thanks so much for visiting!  I hope you'll check out the rest of the DT cards.

Elf Trio

Hi!  Jennifer Timko created this week's sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and as soon as I saw the trio of squares, I knew what I wanted to do.  So I took some time and just coloured and this is the result.

I arranged the three stamps and sentiment in my Misti and stamped them all at once onto a strip of X-Press It cardstock.  I then chose the colour scheme I wanted and spent some time colouring.  I did intend the pink to be a bit lighter but it's all good.  Once I was finished colouring, I adhered the panel to a card base of Blu Raspberry cardstock.

I finished by adding some clear Stickles to the pink ornament and the reindeer's nose.

Thanks for visiting!  Please check out the fabulous cards made by the rest of the design team.

CASE Me a Christmas Card - Smooshed Poinsettia

Hi!  I'm thrilled to have been asked again this year to join Michelle Lupton in her annual CASE Me a Christmas Card challenge.  The premise of this challenge is that we each choose a card of the other's and CASE it, putting our own spin on it.

I went with a "get well soon" card made by Michelle and turned it into this Christmas card.  Scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the photo of Michelle's card, taken from her blog.

The elements I carried over to my card include the ink-smooshing technique, the peachy colour palette, the white embossing - although I did mine on the background and not the image, the floral theme and the black sentiment.

To make this card, I started by white embossing the background stamp onto watercolour paper and then smooshed various distress oxide inks onto watercolor cardstock, using an acetate sheet for the ink transfer.  I created a second smooshed panel for the poinsettia.  Once the panels were dry, I die-cut the poinsettia from the second panel and used some watercolor wash patterned paper for the leaves. I then used Coral Crush and Harvest Gold cardstocks to die-cut the tags and Harvest Gold for the centre of the flower.

I added the tags at an angle to provide a separation between the smooshing and also to add a bit more interest.  I then added the poinsettia and sprayed the petals and leaves with shimmer spray.  Finally I added the sentiment which was stacked three high.

And now, here is Michelle's gorgeous card that I used as my inspiration.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Please make sure you head over to Michelle's blog and check out her card.  I can't wait to see which of my cards she has chosen and how she has adapted it.

Thank you, Michelle, for inviting me to join in once again.  This is such a great concept and I enjoy it every year.

Pastel Snowflakes

Hi!  It's a long weekend here in New Zealand - the first since June - so I'm making the most of it by making cards.  This card uses the colours from this week's Color Throwdown challenge.

I had in mind to stamp some pastel snowflakes and ended up making three cards using these colours.

I stamped three snowflake stamps three times each and white-embossed them, before die-cutting them.  I then dry-embossed a strip of each of the three colours and adhered them down the sides of three card bases.

I chose a modern-looking sentiment and stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink in the bottom right corner of the card bases.  After that I arranged the snowflakes on each card and finished with some enamel dots in the colour of the embossed strip.  I didn't have any lavender dots, so used clear gems for that card.

I'm also linking this up to a new-to-me challenge called Peace on Earth
Thanks for visiting!

Big Thanks Shaker

Hi and welcome!  I'm playing along with the Waffle Flower October 2021 Challenge where we are asked to create a huge or full-panel shaker.  I used a nesting rectangle frame die to come up with this shaker card:

To create this card, I took a sheet of Modern Neutrals patterned paper and cut it in half.  From one half, I die-cut the second largest Nesting Rectangle Frame die.  I stamped the words "thank you" onto the centre panel and then adhered the outermost and centre panel onto a white card base.

Onto the die-cut frame I adhered an acetate panel to the back and then two layers of foam tape.

I added a whole lot of various sequins to the centre panel and then carefully adhered the frame.  To finish the card, I added a white-embossed sub-sentiment and a few sequins stuck to the outside of the acetate.

Thanks for visiting.

Ink:  Versamark, Versafine Onyx Black
Cardstock:  White, Wild Cherry (MFT) Modern Neutrals (Waffle Flower)

There's not much else to say about this card, so I'll leave it there.  I hope you visit the FMS blog and check out the wonderful cards made by the design team.

Good Idea

Hi!  A quick post from me today bringing you my card for the latest Fusion challenge, where I created a fusion of both photo and sketch.

I did go with darker shades of the colours in the photo though because I wanted a more intense feel to my card.  The cups were stamped, using a mask, omto X-Press It cardstock and coloured with Copics.  I then die-cut several layers and elements to match the sketch.

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you'll check out the challenge and the rest of the DT cards.

Embossed Foliage

Welcome to the latest Freshly Made Sketch challenge, where our hostess this week is Judy Rozema

I happened to catch the tail-end of a live by Dawn Woleslagle from WPlus9 in their Facebook group a few weeks ago and was blown away by the card she was putting together using the Rose Builder and Hellebore stamp sets and some silver-embossed foliage.  Unfortunately I can't link to it as you need to be a member of the FB group to be able to view it.  I was so impressed I immediately wanted to create something similar and this is the result:

It's hard to see in the photo, but all the foliage is silver-embossed.  I used various sets to get the leaves I wanted.  The hellebore were already stamped and in my stash so I can't remember which inks I used but they would have been Altenew grays.
The patterned paper is from Whimsy Stamps Blurry Flurries pack and I just love all the patterns in this pack - so much so that I bought two packs last year.

The sentiment is from MFT stamps and is white-embossed onto black.  Finally I finished with some sparkling clear confetti.

Thanks so much for visiting!  I hope you'll check out the wonderful cards made by the rest of the design team.

Stamps:  Rose Builder, Hellebore Builder (WPlus9), Peaceful Pinecones (PTI), Christmas Essentials (SSS), Snow Globe Sentiments (MFT)

Orange Magnolia

Thanks for popping by.  I made today's card using the colours at The Paper Players, the Foliage/Thanks/Sequins or Gems line at Tic Tac Toe and the Anything Goes challenge at Cupcake Inspirations challenge.

I hope these few leaves/budding leaves will qualify as foliage at Tic Tac Toe.  I stamped the magnolia using colours that most closely matched those at The Paper Players.  Once I was finished stamping, I die-cut with the co-ordinating die and also die-cut a plain black panel which I adhered slightly offset as a shadow.  I then adhered the image to a die-cut circle from patterned paper before adding to the white card base.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but the sentiment is a two-piece die-cut.  I cut both layers from black, adding 3 layers to the outline for added interest.

Finally I finished with some bubble gems, which really do look like bubbles!

Thanks for visiting!

Products used:

Stamps:  BAF:  Magnolia (Altenew)
Ink:  Amalgam (Gina K), Peach Fuzz, Clementime (Pink Fresh Studio), Olive, Espresso (Altenew)
Cardstock:  White, Black, Watercolor Wash Brights (MFT)
Dies:  BAF:  Magnolia (Altenew), Infinity Circles (Hero Arts), Thanks Twice (Create a Smile)

Slothmas

Hi!  I'm here with my card using the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, where our hostess this week is Amy O'Neill.  I added to my meagre Christmas card stash with this card.

I coloured up this cute Stamping Bella sloth and fussy-cut him out.  To prepare the card base, I die-cut various colours of green cardstock with a stitched die.  I also cut some thin black strips.  The sentiment was stamped onto the centre panel before they were all adhered onto the card base.

Finally, I added the sloth on his wreath and called it done.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the wonderful cards made by the rest of the design team.
I am adding this card to Tic-Tac-Toe (black, stripes, wreath) and the Anything Goes challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge

Poppy Wishes

Hi and welcome to the new Fusion Challenge where we have the most beautiful inspiration photo for you.  I was influenced by the photo to create this card.

I stamped these layering poppies from The Ton and die-cut them with the co-ordinating die.  Before adding them to the card base, I used a masking rectangle stencil and lightly ink-blended some Speckled Egg Distress Ink, fading it out as I went down the card front.

The sentiment was stamped in black ink and the poppies were arrange in the centre top portion of the card.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the fabulous cards made by the design team.

I'm linking this up to the current challenges at Time Out and Addicted to Stamps and More.
