Watercolored Wreath

Hi and welcome back for another Merry Monday challenge.  Bonnie is our challenge hostess this week and she is asking us to feature a wreath on our cards.

For my card, I decided to try a new-to-me technique called No Line Coloring (I think!)

I stamped the wreath image onto watercolor paper using Fog ink, which is a very light color.  I then used the stamped outline as the basis for my watercoloring, using watercolor paints to create the wreath.  I used three different greens and two different red.  I struggled a bit with the bow because the Tim Holtz image I used was very detailed (good image for a first attempt at this technique - not!)

I wasn't sure whether I should post a close-up of the wreath because I had a little accident which is visible up close!  Right near the end, after I'd put some Dazzling Details on the little berries I'd painted on, I decided to run the image through the Big Shot with the Stitched Mat die.  Big mistake!  The Dazzling Details smeared and I got a splodge of red paint/dazzling details on the inside the of the wreath.  I tidied it up as best I could, but you can still see it.  Doh!

I used the sketch from the current Fusion challenge for the layout of this card.

Anyway, that's the story of this card!  Head on over to the Merry Monday blog and check out the beautiful creations from the rest of the Design Team.

Thanks for visiting.

Your colored wreath is awesome - I haven't been brave enough to try no-line coloring but you've done this wonderfully - love the layout too :)

I tried this technique and was ashamed to even put it in the trash can in case someone should go pilfering through it! It turned out not to be as easy as it looked on video. But you've done a beautiful job! Love the different greens and pretty bow! A perfect sentiment too! (FYI, I've done the same thing by trying to emboss at the end of the card. LOL, it never works!) Hope you have a creative week!

I think this looks wonderful! And it sounds like a very hard technique but you seem to have done just fine. And I can't see the berry boo-boo!
