I kept my card low-key and unfussy as it's destined for a male ex work colleague who is having cancer surgery next week.
For the background panel on the sketch, I chose to use embossing paste and the Rays stencil. I colored the paste with some Goldenlocks ink to match the reeds I stamped along the bottom of the smaller panel.
I stamped the lighthouse and fussy cut it and that represents the top vertical panel on the sketch. The sentiment comes from what is fast becoming my favorite sentiment set - Say it in Style by Clearly Besotted.
No frills or embellishments on this card because (a) it's for a man and (b) it's going through the mail.
Thanks for visiting. The rest of the design team have some knock-out cards to inspire you so check them out.

Wow! Beautiful card Karren! Love the background and the lighthouse! This would definitely help me feel better!
It can be really difficult to make a cheerful card, yet keep it manly, and you've mastered it with this one, Karren. I love the colored embossing paste, and the bright lighthouse used as elements of the sketch... very imaginative and a perfect "feel better' card for a man.
Lovely card, I love the way you used the rays <3

Great masculine card Karren and I am sure your friend will greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Really, really fantastic. Perfect masculine details and still so special. I know he'll be happy to get this. Hoping his treatment goes well.
What a creative way to use this sketch - it's fabulous!
This is great card and perfect for the occasion. The stencil makes rays of "feel better" hope and the lighthouse is a wonderful masculine element. Love every detail.
