I have to admit, when I came up with this challenge, I never thought I'd struggle to make a card using the inspiration photo, but for weeks now I had nothing! So I decided to work with just the sketch and one of my new Newton stamp sets.
Yep, it's another Newton card! Sorry, not sorry 😂I thought the oval in the sketch would work well with Newton drifting up into the sky with his balloons, so I created a little scene behind him that also used the elements of the sketch. I die-cut the grass three times and sponged some Mowed Lawn ink on the top of the blades to add dimension. I used the Mini Cloud Stencil and some Tumbled Glass ink to create the clouds and for the sentiment panel, I white-embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock. The black was adhered directly to a white card base, but the sky and grass were popped up on foam tape. Finally I added Newton.
Thanks for visiting! I hope you check out the rest of the design team's cards - they're gorgeous as always.

That's the great thing about Fusion, you can use either or both! Newton looks so pleased to be placed there with balloons and gift in hand. Such a fun use of that sketch, Karren!
Karren, this is such a fabulous birthday scene and could work for almost anyone (masculine, child, etc.)! Love the soft stenciled clouds and the sponged dimensional grass details! I really look forward to joining all you talented ladies at FCC! Thanks again for the invitation!
Super cute take on the sketch, Karren! I love that you chose Newton for your focal point and how he's flying off into your fluffy clouds with those fun balloons! Beautiful Copic coloring, too...Love this card!

I'm never sorry to see a cute kitty on a card! Love how you interpreted this sketch with your grass, sentiment layer, and your inventive oval! And can I just say that I'm always amazed at how the word "purr" can be used in so many fun ways!! :)
Who needs a cupcake when you create a scene, looks wonderful Karren. You created perfection.
