Christmas Bird

It's time for another Merry Monday challenge.  If you've been playing with us all year, you'll be pleased with the little stash of cards you've got all ready to go :)  If you haven't, consider setting a goal of joining us each week next year to get a head start on your Christmas cards.

Now, onto today's challenge.  Deanne has challenged us to use a bird on our card.

I was so pleased to see this challenge, because I bought the Verve set called Christmas Joy months ago and hadn't had a chance to use it.

Isn't this bird just the cutest?  I stamped him twice and colored him with Copics.  I cut one out (all but the legs) and popped that up on foam tape over some die-cut "snow banks".  I used a sketch from Viva la Verve, but I'm too late to link up.

I actually used some patterned paper on a card!  I bought the Winter Frost paper when it was on special at SU and finally opened the pack.  That dictated my color scheme, which was Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate, Bermuda Bay and White.

Thanks for visiting.  Be sure to check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the design team.

Products used:

Stamps:  Christmas Joy (Verve)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Cardstock:  Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate, X-pressit, Winter Frost DSP
Accessories:  Copics, Wink of Stella, Circle Nestabilities, rhinestones, pearls, sequins, Landscape Trio dies (Mama Elephant)

Cheers
Karren

I bought this set a year ago and it hasn't seen ink yet! Bad me. I need to rectify that especially seeing this delightful card! Love the colors and the way you've fussy cut and popped up the bird! Hope you have a wonderful week!

I think it is so fun that you used a "non-traditional" bird for this Christmas challenge.
