Some of you will know about Jen Brum's aversion to circles - well I feel the same way about ovals. For some reason, I avoid using them. That might be to do with the fact that most of the time I use them, they end up crooked :) So anyway, I used an oval and here is my card.
I die-cut an oval from a white card base and layered some Watercolor Wash patterned paper behind it. The flower was stamped and embossed in white before being colored with a single Zig Marker. Once it was dry, I splattered some more of the same marker over the flower and then die-cut it.
I tucked the stem behind the oval cut-out and left the rest to hang over the frame to add interest. The sentiment is white embossed on black and a couple of floating petals finished off the card.
Thanks for visiting! The rest of the design team have made some fabulous cards using this sketch so be sure to check them out.

A so beautiful card ...Love this smooth and airy feel. Those flowers are just fabulous
So pretty! And not crooked at all - I think you broke the spell!
Who knew that I was hitting a team phobia with my oval, haha!! Well, you totally rocked this. The moment I saw it in the DT gallery, I was in love. Gorgeous coloring!!
totally gorgeous!!
Hello, my name is Jen and I have an unnatural fear of ovals. Which is why my card features a circular shaped poinsettia. Boy, that feels good to say that out loud! I have oval dies and oval scalloped dies and I avoid them like the plague. I have no idea why and if I went to a psychologist I'd probably find out some obscure reason that I likely would rather not know. Better let sleeping dogs lie, I say! Despite YOUR oval phobia you've created a beauty with this one. The flowers are colored so beautifully!
This is so soft and pretty! I had to laugh when I read about your oval phobia. I rarely use them because I have the same issue -- I can never get them straight! I love this card, Karren!
I'm with you on the ovals. I don't even own any because I don't like them. lol Rectangles are my friend. I love your card and I think you showed that oval who is the boss. THe flowers are gorgeous!
I think you've done an amazing job with the oval, Karren...especially since you're not crazy about using them :) Gorgeous blooms and really beautiful coloring with your Zig markers...such a lovely pastel palette, and your sentiment is perfect!
I chuckled when I read your post Karren and some of the DT comments above, because I too have an aversion to ovals and hardly ever use them! I did like the simplicity of Jen's sketch this week though so went with it and I adore your beautifully soft purple hydrangea with the black sentiment banner - just lovely.
Oh my gosh, Karren! This card is sooooo pretty! What a beautiful job you did creating with an oval! I LOVE how you have a couple of petals falling away. Great design.
So soft and Lovely especially your blue background!
Totally divine! I love the pink with the strong black sentiment. Love the two floating flowers too, the perfect touch. PS Thanks for dropping by :)
