Miss You Heart

Welcome to my latest card for the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge, where this week's hostess is Jen Mitchell.  Jen has come up with a fun and versatile sketch.

For my card, I decided to go white-on-white - always a bear to photograph!  I also decided to go very CAS.

I masked off the heart on a stencil and spread white embossing paste over the exposed heart.  While it was still wet, I sprayed it with shimmer spray, but the camera has picked up the subtle shimmer.

I stamped a simple sentiment, cut it at an angle and added a gold strip underneath.  And called it done!

Thanks for visiting.  The DT have created some gorgeous cards so I hope you'll check them out.

Delicate Flowers

Jennifer Timko is our sketch hostess this week at Freshly Made Sketches and she has a great sketch for us.  My card is a pretty literal take on that sketch.

The last few weeks have seen me actually want to craft and color - for the first time since we lost our son 10 months ago.  It's been a hard road and will be for the rest of my life, but I know he wants me to do what I love, so I'm trying.

This image was colored with a mix of Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  Once it was colored, I die-cut it with the matching die and set it aside.  The card base is white and I took a white card front and cut a strip out of it.  Behind that strip I added an embossed navy panel, using foam tape to separate the navy from the top panel.  The circle was die-cut and adhered with foam tape again and the flower was added around the edge.

As you can see from this close-up of the flower, I used mostly pencils for the petals and Copics for the leaves and branch.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the gorgeous cards made by the rest of the design team.

Lest We Forget

Hi all.  It's time for another Fusion Challenge and here is my card:

The challenge this time tips its hat to our servicemen and women.  On 25 April, it is ANZAC day in New Zealand and Australia.  This year, there will be no services to commemorate this date, so I wanted to create a card to convey my thanks.

You won't believe this but there are 10 Distress Inks in my background!  I wanted a yellow/orange background but didn't want it smooth and even, so I used multiple inks.  I then went over the panel with a stencil and darkened the ink, before adding translucent embossing paste.  While that was drying, I worked on the ground, where I used Vintage Photo, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot.

The soldier was stamed in Obsidian ink and cut with my Scan n Cut.  I fussy-cut the gap between his gun and legs. I used cream cardstock for both the soldier and the sentiment as I didn't want anything stark.  The sentiment was die-cut from cream and black cardstock.

I put all the elements together using foam tape for the ground and soldier.  I then added it all to a cream card base.

Thanks for popping by.  I hope you'll check out the wonderful cards made by the design team.

Rose Outline

I'm here with my card for this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches, where our sketch hostess is Lee Ann Barrett and here is her sketch:

I made a very simple card using an svg file from The Ton.

I bought a few svg files and was playing around with my Scan n Cut and this was the first pattern I cut.  The original has the word "mom" on it but because that is spelt wrong 😁, I cut it off.  I spritzed the die-cut piece with shimmer spray then layered it onto a panel of Coral Crush that I had run through an embossing folder.  I then adhered that onto a Grout Gray card base, also run through an embossing folder.

For the sentiment, I went with a simple embossed message in a large font and finished off the card with some sparkling clear confetti.

Thanks for visiting!  The DT have again created gorgeous cards so I hope you'll check them out.

Birthday Leaves

Hi and welcome to another challenge from the team at Freshly Made Sketches, where our hostess this week is Jacquie Southas.  And here is Jacquie's sketch:

I used the sketch to make a birthday card for my dad, who will be 87 in a week or so.  I won't be able to see him before his birthday due to the lockdown, so I will post this card to him.

I used dies from The Greetery and stamps from MFT for this card.  The script background was stamped onto the white card base using Fog ink.   I then die-cut the halfsies die twice from Fog cardstock and ran it through a linen embossing folder.  The leaves were die-cut from Smoke and Slate cardstock and arranged in front of and behind one side of the halfsies die and adhered with liquid glue. I then put tiny slivers of foam tape behind the leaves and behind the halfsies dies and adhered to the card base.  The sentiment was white embossed and cut out.

I finished with some clear raindrops.

Thanks for visiting.  The DT have some gorgeous cards so I hope you'll check them out.

Pastel Gnome

Hi!  I'm late posting my card for the Fusion Challenge.  This week has been crazy busy with working from home and I had no time at all to make a card.  But today is Saturday here and I got into my craft room and came up with this card.

I created a fusion of sketch and photo this week and used pastel colors to create this little gnome card.  I did some very simple Copic coloring on my gnome, keeping to pale colors.  I added some polka dots to his shirt with a white gel pen and also some clear sparkle to the flowers.

The three strips of cardstock behind the gnome were embossed with a linen-look folder.  The patterned paper was die-cut with an embossed edge die and the sentiment was white-embossed on black.

Thanks for visiting.  There's plenty of time left to play along with the challenge, so I hope you'll head over and check out the other amazing DT cards.

Just a Note

Hi and welcome!  It's time for another sketch from the team at Freshly Made Sketches where our hostess this week is Judy Rozema.

I had so many ideas running through my head for the circular elements, but ending up going with envelopes.

I got an order from The Greetery a few weeks ago and hadn't taken the products out of the bag, so my mission was to use something from the order and this was it.  I combined The Greetery with MFT products to create my card.

The card base is 5" x 5" square and onto a white panel the same size, I die-cut the horizontal skinny stripes die.  Behind that I matted some patterned paper and adhered both layers to a white card base.

The big envelope was stamped and die-cut and I added an envelope liner using patterned paper.  I shaded the envelope with some C Copic markers to add dimension and popped in the note.  The other two envelopes were die-cut from the same paper pack using MFT dies.

Another simple card!

Thanks for visiting.  Please check out the wonderful cards made by the design team.

Stay safe.
