Forever and Always

The cute image in the new Fusion challenge immediately put me in mind of this stamp, so I had to incorporate it with the sketch for my card.

I coloured the image with Copics then used a loose pointillism technique for the blue around the image.  I matted the panel onto black then angled it onto a kraft tag.  The card base was embossed with the Subtle embossing folder and I used a heat-embossed sentiment panel and black mat for the sentiment.

Thanks for visiting.  The DT have some gorgeous cards so I hope you'll check them out.

Dad's Birthday

Hi and welcome to the latest sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches where our sketch hostess is Narelle Farrugia.  I went a bit collage-y to make this card for my dad's birthday.

I used a lot of products from The Greetery on this card.  On the large die-cut panel I stamped segments of a text stamp across the top left corner and splattered some ink.  I then die-cut the brick wall die and coloured the corners with Copics.

The postage stamps were stamped and die-cut and matted onto a panel I'd coloured with some Altenew ink.  I added some leaves and foliage in the top left and bottom rights segments

The sentiment was stamped with black ink and I added some hearts.  I also added glossy accents to the hearts.

Thanks for visiting!  Please check out the DT cards and have a go yourself!

Stripey Flower

Hi and welcome!  It's my turn to design the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and I decided it was time for another slimline card.  Despite my original intentions, I ended up with a mini-slimline.

I had the idea to use this striped die and add colour to represent one of the strips on the sketch and the sentiment can represent the other strip.  Obviously, I flipped the sketch onto the side.  The flower was one I had left over from another project.  The sentiment was embossed with some old Crushed Curry embossing powder.

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you'll check out the rest of the DT cards and have a go yourself.

Products used:

Stamps:  Celebrate Life (Altenew/PinkFresh), Hello Lovely (Concord & 9th)
Ink:  Amalgam (Gina K), Versamark, Various Altenew inks for the flower
Cardstock:  White, Midnight (Concord & 9th), Summer Sunrise, Limeade Ice (PTI)
Dies:  Slimline Long Stripes (The Ton)

Poppy Frames

It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time I created a fusion to come up with this card:

The poppies were already stamped and I didn't keep a record of which inks I used, but it would have been Altenew inks.  I adhered the flowers to a white card base with foam tape and added a few leaves.

I thought the sketch looked like a film strip so pulled out all my film strip dies, but they were too small to run together so I decided to cut each film strip apart and arrange them haphazardly over the flowers with a bit of liquid glue.  I finished with a sentiment from another poppy stamp set.

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you'll check out the wonderful cards made by the design team.

Products used:

Stamps:  Poppy Wishes (The Ton), Delicate Pretty Poppies (MFT)
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Altenew inks

Circles, Circles, Circles

Hi and welcome!  Today's Freshly Made Sketch is brought to you by Cecile Ribon.  I went a bit rainbow for my card 😊

The hardest part about this card was lining up those circles on the card base!  The actual circles were made with a die and various colours of cardstock.  I then popped them up with foam tape onto the card base, using my T-square ruler and a bit of eyeballing.  A white-embossed sentiment finished the card.

Thanks so much for visiting!  Please head on over and check out the wonderful cards made by the rest of the design team.

I'm linking this up to the Birthday challenge at Addicted to Stamps & More as well as Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies challenge.

Copper Curve

Hi and welcome!  Today's sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches was designed by Jen Brum.  Here's what I did with it:

This was a pretty simple card to make.  I already had the alcohol-inked panel so I just had to adhere it to a card base then add the two die-cut panels on top with foam tape.   The sentiment is hot-foiled with gold foil and I finished with some copper-toned sequins.

Thanks for visiting!  The DT have some wonderful cards as usual, so I hope you'll check them out.

Products used:

Ink:  Alcohol Ink
Cardstock:  White, Yupo
Dies:  Stitched Basic Edges 2 (MFT), Yana's Special Sentiments (Spellbinders)

Micey Nice

Hi and welcome to this unexpected post!  It's been a long time since I've posted a card for a challenge rather than because I'm on the design team.  But this weekend was a long weekend and I had a bit of extra time and enthusiasm to be in my craft room.  On Friday I coloured up every image in the Mice Day to Celebrate set and then today (Monday) I decided to make a birthday card for my youngest niece and pulled out the coloured images.  It was nice to see that most of the colours I'd used matched the current colour challenge at MFT so I decided to work with their sketch as well to come up with this card.

Apologies for the horrible colour of the photo - it's a searing hot day today and all the curtains are closed to try and keep out the heat.  Consequently my lightbox - even with its lights - is casting a dull shade.

Onto the card.  I took the images I'd coloured which matched the colour challenge - I also coloured some with a teal colourway so left them out.  I chose some MFT cardstocks (possibly retired but I didn't have the exact match to the challenge).  I arranged my colours and card in accorance with the challenges and adhered everything but the mouse holding the gift with liquid glue.  For the wee mouse holding the gift, I used foam tape.

I finished by colouring the hats and balloon with clear sparkle pen and added some enamel dots and hearts in the challenge colours.

Thanks for visiting.

Sympathy Rose

Hi!  It's time for another fun sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and this week our hostess is Kim Singdahlsen.

For my card I used a NBUS die set to make this beautiful rose.  Once it was finished, I set it aside and worked on the card base.  I adhered some washi tape to a black strip and adhered that to the card base.  From there I added two embossed panels to mimic the sketch, after stamping the sentiment.  It's difficult to see in the photo but the top panels are popped up on foam tape.

Thanks for visiting.  The DT have some fabulous cards so I hope you'll check them out.
