Celebrating with Oxides

Hi and welcome!

This will be a quick post because I injured my eye on Saturday and it's still healing, so looking at screens for too long is quite painful.  This card, which uses the sketch from the lovely Jen Brum at Freshly Made Sketches, took me 4 days to make!

When I started it, I didn't realise I'd got a corneal abrasion and thought I just had some grit in my eye, so worked around that to make the separate components of the card.  After a couple of hours, it was so painful I had to go to the doctor and after some freaky tests, was diagnosed with a 3mm abrasion.  I'll spare you any more details.  Long story short, it is healing, but slowly and my eye is still quite sensitive to light and my vision is still a bit blurred.  I put this card together on Tuesday night and it took a while to get the panels straight 😃

I used emboss resist and distress oxide inks for the bottom panel and some SugarPea Designs stamps and die for the top panel.  I'm linking up to SPD's 3rd birthday bash - congrats to Wendy and the team on this fabulous accomplishment.

And finally, here is the gorgeous sketch for this week.

I hope you'll have time to play along and head on over and check out the gorgeous creations made by the rest of the DT.

Fabulous card sweetie, I hope your eye is healing ok, stay away from the screen and relax and heal. I know from some of Johns injuries on the building site and rust on the eyeball how agonising it can be. Stay well hugs Aileen

So sorry that you're having trouble with your eye, Karren! And, with one eye, you've managed to create another really beautiful card! I love how you blended your oxide inks on those cool circles and your 'dotted curves' work perfectly with your sentiment!
I hope you've had some improvement in your eye since you posted here...keeping you in my thoughts :)

I just love your card! And I do hope your eye feels better quickly. My dog had that problem but the meds helped a lot. Best wishes!

And you manage to create fabulous cards like this even with one eye! I can't do it with two!

No one would guess you were one eye down when you made this card. Maybe the curvy layer is just the thing with a little eye impairment! I love how the bottom of this card looks and I'm thinking that I see some oxide inks in my future!
