For my second card today, I used the colors from Sunday Stamps - navy, pink and silver.
I inked the flower from Love and Care in Versarmark then colored it with Strawberry Slush and Night of Navy markers before clear embossing it onto Whisper White - yes, I have a navy flower stem :) The Strawberry Slush DSP is adhered directly to the Whisper White card base, while the panel with the flower is popped up on dimensionals - which you can't see in the photo.
The sentiment was silver-embossed onto a tag I received from my Merry Monday Secret Santa. The twine is from American Crafts and matches Night of Navy close enough.

It's Saturday here and I finally got a chance to stamp again. I tried the other night but my attempts were pitiful so I gave up. I struggled a bit today but I had a head start with this card, as I'd already colored the image a week ago so I just had to make it into a card.
I used the sketch at Pals Paper Arts as well as the toppings challenge at Seize the Birthday to add coloring to your birthday card.
Now I feel the need to add a disclaimer here LOL. I'm very much a beginner when it comes to copics so bear that in mind when you cast your eyes over my card.
This image is actually two stamps from Purple Onion Designs - the jar and the bunch of flowers. I stamped them onto Xpress-it cardstock and colored with copics. I colored this image with no layout nor finished card in mind so it was a nice surprise to find the orange flowers matched Tangerine Tango cardstock. The tag is another of the die cuts from my Merry Monday Secret Santa, onto which I stamped the sentiment from PTI's Birthday Bash Sentiments set and popped up with dimensionals.

Welcome back to another Freshly Made Sketch challenge. I can't believe the amazing response to Jen's sketch last week. Let's see how many have a go at this on-trend sketch from Cindy Lovell.
The angled panel is really popular right now - helped along I think by a set of dies available. I don't have any dies, so cut my own shape. This was easy to do - I took a rectangle and placed it on the card front at the angle I wanted it, then carefully flipped the card over and drew a pencil line around the card base on the back which I then used as my cutting lines.
However, before I took that step, I tried a new-to-me technique - Rock Salt Background. I found this on Pinterest in one of those "pins you might be interested in" emails. Basically you pour some rock salt onto your cardstock and run it through the Big Shot between two cutting plates. You then scrape the salt off and you have a lovely background. It's hard to see in the photo, but I did this to both the Whisper White angled panel and the Rose Red banner. Here's a close-up:
For my cupcake, I stamped it in Brilliance ink onto Whisper White cardstock and colored it using Copics. I then went over the frosting with my 2-way glue pen and sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The sentiment stamp was inked up in Versamark then in Island Indigo before being clear-embossed.
Another simple inside, but hey, at least it's another card with its insides done LOL.

Don't you just love the new Merry Monday blog? For this week's challenge we're going traditional Christmas at Merry Monday. The theme is to use a snowman on your Christmas card. Pretty easy, right?
I went with a digital image of a snowman from Squigglefly. I printed him out and colored him with Copics before cutting around him. The beauty with this image is that there's a lot of shading already on the image so it's not hard to make him good good LOL. As a finishing touch, I put a dot of Dazzling Details into the center of the poinsettia on his hat.
To showcase him, I stamped the gingham circle from Kind and Cosy on Whisper White and punched out the center. I stamped the greeting before tying some Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine around the Whisper White than adhered it to the Cherry Cobbler card base using dimensionals. I then put my snowman in the center also using dimensionals. A very simple card.
And in keeping with the country theme, he's the inside of the card.

Firstly, apologies to anyone who ended up here on my blog after googling Audi Q7s. There are no cars in this post :)
The reason for my post title is that I made a card for my niece, Quin, who is turning 7. I used the colors from The Card Concept and I'm calling my card Clean and Layered. I tend to stick to clean cards although I do occasionally venture into vintage/shabby, but not today.
I'm also seizing the toppings at Seize the Birthday, which is to feature numbers on your birthday card. I've used the sketch at Mojo Monday and because it's a birthday card and also features twine, I'm linking another card up to Friday Mashup. Phew! Bet you just want to see the card now?
I started my card with a Crumb Cake base which I embossed with a new-to-me EF from Couture Creations. In my Blushing Bride scrap folder I found the strip that had been embossed with the cross-stitch EF and cut with the Finishing Touches Edgelit, so I cut an Early Espresso strip the same as a layer. I used some old In Color DSP for the main panel and again layered that onto Early Espresso. The Q7 were cut from textured cardstock using the Alphabet Typeset die for the "Q" and PTI's By the Numbers for the "7". I lightly inked around the edges of the die cuts with a sponge dauber and Blushing Bride ink to make them stand out a bit more.
The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler set and stamped onto Very Vanilla and cut with Spellbinders Curved Rectangles die. Some pink twine from American Crafts and some translucent sequins finished off the card.

This is my second post today. Scroll down for my Valerie card.
I was pondering the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch and had the thought to flip the sketch upside down and use balloons for the images. At that point, the card came together pretty quickly. I used the colors from Pals Paper Arts and the Birthday/Twine theme from Friday Mashup. I decided to go SUO with this card as I haven't shown many SU cards on my blog lately.
I started with a Soft Sky card base and stamped the sentiment in Real Red. I then stamped the balloons in Soft Sky. I then poked a hole under each balloon and through the 'h' in Birthday and threaded some white baker's twine through the holes. BTW, this took me longer than making the whole card LOL. I tied little bows and used glue dots to adhere them under the balloons.
The whole Whisper White panel is popped up on dimensionals. And here's a shot of the very simple inside (so far I've stuck to my crafting resolution of finishing the inside when I actually make the card).

I received my first order of Xpress-it Copic Blending Paper the other day, so I decided to take it for a test drive. Coincidentally, Mo's Digital Pencil are having a sale at the moment, so I decided that I was destined to buy some more digi stamps :)
I used this week's sketch from Retro Sketches and the colours from ColourQ for my card.
I have to admit that when I first saw the colors at ColourQ, I thought "no way!". But then when I chose Valerie to color, I saw the possibility of using all the challenge colors and gave it a go.
I'm not 100% happy with my layout. I think there's something missing, but I was so focussed in my mind on making a card that matched the definitions at The Card Concept, that I sort of missed the boat a bit. (This card is not for The Card Concept challenge, I was just testing myself. I'm hoping to make a card for that challenge over the weekend.)
I colored Valerie in the challenge colors then used nesties to cut her out. I decided to stick with Basic Gray and Poppy Parade for my main card colors and used the Needlepoint Border EF down either side of the gray panel.
