Hi! I'm back with my second card as Surprise Party Guest over at Seize the Birthday. Today's challenge is a colour challenge - purple, blue and green.
At first, I was heading down the flower route and then I decided to follow Laura Bassen's lead and check out geometric patterns on Pinterest which gave me the inspiration for this card:
Firstly, I black hot-foiled the Deco Triangles plate onto Hammermill cardstock, then used the co-ordinating stencils to colour up the panel. I cut it down slightly and matted it onto a Dark Indigo panel before adding it to a white card base.
The sentiment is a new-to-me die from Memory Box which I die-cut from black and mounted onto a white shadow die. Each layer is stacked two high.
And for those that are interested, here is the inspiration for my card. I used black foil rather than gold because gold wasn't one of the challenge colours, but I think this card would look pretty cool in gold as well!
Products used:
Ink: Ultraviolet, Volcano Lake, Emerald, Desert Night (Altenew)
Cardstock: White, Black, Dark Indigo (PTI)
Dies: Happy Birthday Posh Script (Memory Box), Deco Triangles (The Greetery), A2 Rectangle Stax (MFT)
Accessories: Black Hot Foil
Cheers
Karren

Amazing! Great inspiration and perfect card! Love this geometric design!
This is amazing Karren, and I love how you used that pillow for your inspiration and of course Laura B. It is all about graphics for her and you followed in her footsteps perfectly! You have provided us with another amazing 3 color birthday card inspiration! Thank you so much!!
I do agree that it would look fabulous with gold foil, but it looks awesome with the black foil as well. I love how cleanly you've filled in the blocks - really neat, solid colors. Awesome card! Thank you so much for this wonderful inspiration!
Fabulous card Karren. Loved the inspirational pillow and your resulting card.
Fantastic use of those challenge colors, Karren! Thanks for reminding me that I bought that black foil!

Karren, This is just beautifully done and I love where your inspiration came from! I need to remember to look around when I am in a slump and take inspiration from my surroundings.
This is an awesome geometric card! Fabulous job using the inspiration
Wonderful card Karren, awesome stencilling too, I thought the triangles were inlaid diecuts!! Would look great with the gold too, and that's a gorgeous cushion, Cathy x
Beautiful card with those geometric shapes and our colors. My first thought was flowers also but I went with balloons.
Geometric cards are my favourite and this is no exception! Absolutely gorgeous. Brilliant source of inspiration - I'm with Nancy, good reminder to look at my surroundings for inspiration.
