Bright Florals

Hi, it's a scorching hot Sunday afternoon here and the only thing to really do is stay inside and stamp :)  And just to clarify, by scorching I mean 31 degrees Celsius or 88 degrees Fahrenheit.  I'm sure some of my friends in the Northern Hemisphere would love that right about now, but trust me, that's hot in my little corner of the world!

I stamped and colored this card yesterday, but didn't really like it so put it to one side for the night.  When I came back to it today, it wasn't as awful as I thought and I only needed to cover up one poorly colored flower for me to think it was okay.

I couldn't get the purple Copics to blend at all so my flower looked like a kindergartner had colored it!  For the rest of the flowers, I didn't even attempt to blend!  I fixed the purple problem by stamping it again on a scrap and sticking it over the top with glue dots.  I also left the leaves intact and decided I liked that look so cut down the white panel to fit onto a Coastal Cabana card base.   I went over all the flowers and leaves with clear Wink of Stella.

I started out using the colors from Color Throwdown, but the end result is a bit brighter, so I hope it's still okay.  The sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch was also used, but again, I deviated a bit :)  I'm also entering this into Darnell's NBUS challenge and this week's CASology challenge.  I have had this Verve flower stamp for months, but this is the first time it's been inked up.  Surprisingly for me, this is the first time I've used NBUS since Darnell's challenge went live.  Maybe I need to buy some more schtuff...

Thanks for visiting.

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

Products used:

Stamps:  Fringe Flower, Poppy Birthday (Verve)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Karren

Beautiful card. Love the bright and happy colors. I think when you look at this again, you will see that you did a fine job coloring. I think I may even have these flowers, also unused--need to check. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week, and stay cool.

Sometimes looking at things with a fresh pair of eyes does the body good. I think your card is bright and cheerful. As for the NBUS - I like your thinking. ;)

Thank you for your post, I really enjoyed reading it! Well, if it is too hot or cold it's too much and nothing can really be done - except crafting of course! :) I like your card, I never would have known that you hid your first violet flower. I like you design, especially leaves hanging over the border is cool! Loved your comment too! Thanks!

Love the card, the colors, the coloring. You don't need to say there was a boo-boo because I doubt we would know. Why are so so hard on ourselves.

I can't imagine you doing any bad coloring, Karren! It always looks outstanding to me, just like your pretty colorful flowers here! I love your deviation from the sketch and how your design ended up! Thank you for entering both the CASology and NBUS #3 challenges! If we only lived closer, I have a whole Mt. NBUS you could climb for more entries!! Have a great week!! Hugs, Darnell
